Yesterday, I stumbled (quite by accident) into the fact that it was my 5-year blogiversary.
Five years. I
started this little corner of the internet to be a place for me to consolidate all of the book news, thoughts, and links I was otherwise emailing to my friends and family on a weekly, if not daily, basis. From
my very first book review, this has grown to be so many things--still a place to talk about books and reading, but also a place where I have met new people, challenged myself, and grown as a writer and reviewer.
I'm celebrating by treating myself to a new, to-be-selected clothbound hardcover from Penguin's collection of
Coralie Bickford-Smith designs, and as a thank you to the community who has helped me grow this little blog from a small nothing to a small something, I'm giving one away, too. DeleteBy the Gods, woman! How can you not have read Jane Eyre or Dracula!!!!????? You need to remedy that. After you complete #SeptemberEyre, you need to do a Dracula group for October. I will join that but I doubt I can stretch the book more than 4 hours because I cannot put it down. I'll also try to get a Dracula scholar I know to join us.

DeleteCongratulations! That's a long time. I'm toying with the idea of starting one of my own, but I'm afraid I might take it too seriously and it would turn reading and reviewing into an obligation, rather than a luxury. I suppose I could just post whenever I felt inclined.

ReplyDeleteWow, I had no idea you'd been blogging for this long! That's amazing. Congrats on the anniversary! :) I love these clothbound editions. I only own one (Lady Chatterley's Lover), and dream of one day owning the entire set (dream, being the key word haha - $$$). I really wish they had The Great Gatsby, but since they don't, my second choice would be Treasure Island since I collect Treasure Island books.
